I was a shy and fearful girl until a storm turned my life upside down: actress Varsha Priyadarshini

Ollywood actress Varsha Priyadarshini, who has been in the news because of her marital discord with estranged husband Anubhav Mohanty, spoke her mind at Ramadevi Women’s University on Monday.

She addressed the students of the University during the 8th Basant Utsav 2023 to which she was invited as a guest.

Addressing the students, Varsha said, “Dreaming is good, but this is the time to make your dream come true. Life is not a bed of roses neither it is a fairytale. It is unpredictable. You never know what is going to happen in the future.”

Avoiding dragging Anubhav’s name to the stage, she said, “I am an emotional and shy kind of girl who feared to talk with people. But a storm came and it changed my life upside down. I learnt from my mistakes and stood up every time life tried to push me down.”

Speaking about patience, Varsha said, “It is very important to have patience in testing times. Never allow negativity to crop into your mind, otherwise, it will cripple you. Keep patience and fight the adversities until good times come to you.

Varsha spoke about her social media activity and the trolls. “My fans used to complain that I was not active enough on social media. Then I decided to post my social works and keep my fans updated about the same through social media. But some people accused me of showing off in a bid to get political mileage, possibly a party ticket in the next elections. When I asked my family they said that unsuccessful people always pull the legs of those who are successful.”

The Orissa High Court in March had rejected a petition filed by Varsha seeking the court’s intervention to stop her actor-turned-politician husband Anubhav Mohanty from posting negative remarks against her on social media.

Varsha had filed the petition with Orissa High Court to stop the ‘fake and hate campaigns’ against her. As per Varsha’s allegations, when her marital discord with Anubhav is sub-judice in a family court in Cuttack, the videos being shared by the actor-turned-politician on social media platforms are defamatory. She had also requested the court to expunge the previous posts from various social media platforms that she claimed were maligning her image.
