I went into depression after divorce: Singer Sia
Los Angeles (IANS). Singer-songwriter Sia has revealed that she went through depression after her divorce from Eric Anders Lang after two years of marriage.
“Actually, the truth is, I’ve been writing songs here and there occasionally for the last six, seven years,” Sia said while discussing her upcoming album ‘Reasonable Woman’, reports People magazine.
Sia, speaking with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, said, “I got divorced and it hit me really hard. It was such a bad time that I lay in bed for three years, really depressed and So I couldn’t really do anything during that period.”
‘Reasonable Woman’ will mark the Grammy winner’s first album release since 2016’s ‘This Is Acting’. The album is expected to be released in 2024. The singer released a single from the album titled ‘Gimme Love’ on Wednesday.
Talking about how she prepared herself to record new music, Sia said that she started by recording “little bits here and there”.
“And then, it turns out we have enough songs to make an album, which is cool.”
Singer Sia has made her life quite private after her divorce. She married her boyfriend Dan Bernard in Portofino, Italy in May this year.
