IAS Ranu Sahu’s bail hearing postponed, now on January 8

Raipur. A big update has come regarding the bail petition of suspended IAS Ranu Sahu. The case was to be heard in the High Court today, but the hearing remained incomplete today. The next hearing on Ranu Sahu’s bail plea will be held on January 8.

It is noteworthy that in October last year, ED had raided the homes and offices of many officers and businessmen in Chhattisgarh and had alleged that an organized gang in the state was extorting Rs 25 per tonne in coal transportation. According to the ED documents, on July 15, 2020, the government officials issued an order for this as a well-thought-out policy and only after that the process of illegal recovery started.

According to the ED, many businessmen and Congress party leaders are involved in this scam. More officers were involved and till now they have illegally recovered more than Rs 540 crore through this method. In the documents presented in the court, ED has claimed that it has seized a large number of diaries, phone chats, evidence of transactions, crores of rupees in cash, gold, details of properties worth billions of rupees and other documents in this regard.
