The IMD in its daily bulletin said minimum temperatures were between 6-10 degrees Celsius over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, most parts of West Rajasthan and parts of East Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh. “It is 3-5 degrees Celsius above normal in many parts of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and parts of Haryana, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Odisha. In some parts of western Rajasthan they are 2-4 degrees Celsius below normal. Today, the lowest minimum temperature of 2.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bikaner (West Rajasthan),” the IMD said.
IMD has further predicted that dense to very dense fog is likely to prevail over some parts/ isolated areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and East Rajasthan during night/ morning hours till January 7 and over isolated parts for the next 24 hours.
