In Bihar, dacoits created havoc in the house of a textile businessman, attacked the police who arrived at the time of the incident with a bomb.
Madhubani: On Sunday night, a group of dacoits raided the house of textile businessman Rajkumar Gami in Saharghat police station area of Madhubani district of Bihar on the India-Nepal border and created a ruckus. During this, the dacoits looted property worth lakhs of rupees including cash.
The dacoits injured many people including the house owner in the fight. The dacoits also attacked the police who arrived at the time of the incident with a bomb, in which two policemen were injured. According to the police, at around 1 am on Sunday night, 25 to 30 armed unidentified people reached the house of businessman Rajkumar Gami in Saharghat located on the India-Nepal international border and committed robbery.
Home owner Rajkumar Gami, his wife and his son Pintu Gami were beaten and injured by the dacoits when they protested against the robbery. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police of Saharghat police station reached the spot, when the dacoits threw a bomb at the police at some distance from the spot and injured two policemen.
The police of Saharghat and other police stations retaliated on the dacoits, after which, taking advantage of the darkness, the dacoits fled towards Nepal. As soon as information about the incident was received, Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar and Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Benipatti and police from other police stations reached the spot.
The Superintendent of Police said that the police are continuously conducting raids to arrest the criminals involved in the robbery and recover the looted goods. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment, where everyone’s condition is said to be out of danger. Police are investigating the entire matter.(IANS)
