Increase in air pollution in Delhi: Consultative meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.

Delhi: A high-level meeting was held at the Delhi Secretariat on Monday, chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, to discuss the rising air pollution levels.
A press release issued in this regard stated: Clear instructions were given to the concerned departments during the meeting that the system of issuing penalty receipts for vehicles without valid PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificates will continue without fail. No leniency will be shown in this matter.
Discussions will be held with aggregators like Ola and Uber to reduce the use of private vehicles by introducing carpooling and shared bus services to ease traffic congestion on the roads.
Additionally, new route arrangements are being made for Delhi government buses to provide more efficient service in areas where public transport is most needed. Furthermore, new guidelines will be issued for e-rickshaws to streamline their operation and ensure a smooth transportation system in the capital.
Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and senior officials from the concerned departments were present at the meeting.
