India has previously conducted relief operations in various countries during natural disasters and humanitarian crises. Operation Amistad is considered part of this humanitarian cooperation.

The Indian Embassy in Caracas stated in its message that the relief operations are being carried out in a phased manner and that constant coordination is maintained with local authorities. The Embassy also commended the efforts of all concerned parties who supported the relief efforts.
