Indore: Congress to launch ‘Nyay Yatra’ on January 11

Madhya Pradesh: The Congress Committee has announced a protest in the form of a “Nyay Yatra” on January 11th. It demands justice for the 16 people who died from allegedly contaminated drinking water in Bhagirathpura, a part of the city.

The Congress has held Urban Development and Housing Minister and local MLA Kailash Vijayvargiya responsible for the incident and demanded his resignation. State Congress President Jitu Patwari stated that this decision was taken at a meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan. The meeting was attended by Indore city chief Chintu Chouksey, all block presidents, councilors, and senior party leaders. Patwari stated that the method of the protest was discussed in detail, after which it was decided to hold a Nyay Yatra to demand justice for the affected families.

According to Patwari, the Nyay Yatra will begin from Bada Ganpati Square and end at the Ahilya statue at Rajwada. Through the march, the party will raise its voice for justice for the families of the deceased. He alleged that the deaths were not accidental or a case of negligence, but a “planned murder”, and demanded that an FIR be registered under murder charges against those responsible.
