Indore: Minor detained in murder case
Indore: Police have detained a minor boy in connection with the murder of Bajrang Dal worker Shubham Raghuvanshi during Prabhat Pheri of Ranjit Hanuman Temple. He was with the group of accused and his role is being investigated.
Additional DCP (Zone-4) Abhinay Vishwakarma said that four people named Yash, Kapil, Yuvraj and Krishna have been arrested in the murder case. During the investigation, the police came to know that four of his friends were also involved in the crime. A minor boy was detained on Saturday and further investigation is underway.
It is noteworthy that on Thursday morning Shubham had gone with his friends to participate in Prabhat Pheri. He was in Prabhat Pheri when he got into an argument with some accused, when one of them noticed Shubham’s group. The situation became tense and a fight broke out between the two groups.
After this, one of the accused attacked Shubham’s neck from behind with a knife. He was taken to the hospital but could not be saved due to excessive bleeding. Yash and Yuvraj were arrested by the police on the same day while Kapil and Krishna were arrested the next day after the incident.
Vishwakarma further said that three more youths are being searched as they were with the accused and were involved in the fight. Three teams of Crime Branch and Annapurna Police are searching for the remaining accused. The four accused arrested after the incident are on police remand and are being interrogated further.
Activists of Hindu organizations have announced a protest on Sunday demanding strict action against the accused and compensation of Rs 1 crore to the family of the deceased. The workers of the organization allege that the accused are also drug addicts.
