Indore News: Illegal liquor worth Rs 1.01 lakh seized.

Madhya Pradesh: On December 12, 2025, the Excise Department in Indore conducted a major operation, seizing illegal liquor worth approximately ₹1.01 lakh. The operation was carried out on the orders of District Collector Shivam Verma and under the direction of Assistant Excise Commissioner Abhishek Tiwari.
Separate operations were conducted in different parts of the city, during which liquor, vehicles, and two accused individuals were apprehended. In the first operation, the excise team conducted checks in the Malwa Mill area. At the Malwa Mill intersection, a grey Activa scooter was stopped, and six bottles of illegally transported whiskey were recovered. The liquor and the two-wheeler were seized, and a case was registered against the accused, Hitesh, a resident of the city, under the Excise Act. The total value of the seized liquor and vehicle in this case was estimated at approximately ₹57,000.
In another operation conducted the same day, the excise team stopped a two-wheeler near the Abhilasha Nagar intersection on Nemawar Road. During the search, a carton containing 50 quarters of country liquor was found in the rider’s bag. The accused, Vicky, was caught red-handed and taken into custody. A case was registered against him under the Excise Act, and the value of the seized liquor and vehicle was estimated at approximately ₹43,750.
