Indore: Students were urged to oppose crimes and work towards ending child marriage.

Madhya Pradesh: As part of the Child Marriage Free India campaign, a workshop was organized for school students, focusing on raising awareness about children’s rights and the need to speak out against crimes committed against children.
Addressing the students during the program, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rakesh Parmar of Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) emphasized that children should be fully aware of their rights to protect themselves from exploitation and abuse. He stated that the police are taking strict action against crimes against children and added that if children speak up fearlessly, no one will dare to commit such crimes. The workshop was organized by the Women and Child Development Department at Government Higher Secondary School, Simrol. Parmar encouraged the students to be vigilant, informed, and confident, stating that awareness is the strongest weapon to prevent child marriage and other crimes.
Amit Kumar, in-charge of Simrol Police Station, explained the harmful social, physical, and legal consequences of child marriage and provided detailed information about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Mahendra Pathak, in-charge of the Child Marriage Prohibition Flying Squad, elaborated on the provisions of the Child Marriage Prohibition Act, 2006, and highlighted the crucial role children can play in reporting and preventing such practices.
