Injustice being done to workers in SECL, receiving death threats for protesting

Korba. The workers protested against the arbitrariness and indecency being committed by the officers and employees of the contract company engaged in the SECL project being run in Pali. Labor leaders reached the GM office in Manikpur on Friday and demanded action against the culprits.

Actually, the contract company of Storex Minerals is employed in SECL’s Saraipali Coal Project operated in Pali. On Friday, company officer Abhishek Singh misbehaved with SECL employee Krishna Kumar Tiwari, posted as overman. Officer Abhishek Singh had arrived under the influence of alcohol. After this incident, anger spread among labor organizations.

The workers say that the officers and employees of the contract company are pressurizing the workers working inside the mine to work against the rules. If they do not do so, they are abused, beaten and even attempts are made to kill them.
