Police: Death of four-year-old boy in Kazhakoottam confirmed as murder

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Police have confirmed that the death of a four-year-old boy in Kazhakoottam was a homicide. The postmortem report stated that the child died from a neck injury. Munni Begum was staying with her partner at a lodge in Kazhakoottam. Two weeks ago, she had moved there from Aluva after separating from her husband, bringing with her the deceased child and her younger child, who is one and a half years old. The couple had also stayed at the same lodge two months earlier. A forensic team inspected the lodge and collected evidence. Around 6 p.m. on Sunday, Munni Begum took the child to a private hospital in Kazhakoottam. They told hospital authorities that the child did not wake up after lunch. However, while examining the child, doctors noticed an injury on his neck and immediately informed the Kazhakuttam police. Police said that all aspects of the case, including the role of the child’s mother, are being thoroughly investigated.
