Inter-State vehicle thief arrested, 14 two-wheelers recovered, 13 Royal Enfields included

Madhya Pradesh: The police have achieved a major breakthrough by arresting a member of an inter-state vehicle theft gang. Fourteen stolen two-wheelers, valued at approximately ₹50 lakh, were recovered during the operation. Notably, the recovered vehicles include 13 Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles, adding significant gravity to the case.
The arrested individual has been identified as Kanhaiyalal Lahaur, a native of Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district who was currently residing in the city. Police apprehended him on Friday night near Race Course Road during a routine patrol. The arrest took place while the police team was conducting night patrols in the area.
According to police officials, the accused aroused suspicion when he attempted to flee upon spotting the police. The team immediately gave chase and apprehended him on the spot. Interrogation revealed several crucial details regarding his involvement.
During the investigation, police discovered that the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 motorcycle the accused was using bore a fake registration number plate. This discovery further strengthened suspicions regarding his involvement in criminal activities.
A subsequent thorough investigation led to the recovery of 14 two-wheelers from his possession, the majority of which were Royal Enfield Bullet models. Preliminary estimates place the total value of these vehicles at around ₹50 lakh.
The police believe the accused had been involved in vehicle theft for a long time and was likely working for an organized network. The recovered vehicles are being examined to identify their rightful owners and to uncover the full scope of the theft operations.
Officials stated that interrogation is ongoing, and information regarding his accomplices and the network is being gathered. The police are also investigating the states from which the stolen vehicles were brought and where they were intended to be sold or used. Following this success, the police stated that patrolling and surveillance would be intensified to curb vehicle theft incidents in the city and surrounding areas. Additionally, the public has been urged to remain vigilant about the security of their vehicles and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
