IPS wife cheated online
New Delhi : An IPS officer’s wife and cook were duped by an online fraudster who posed as a furniture buyer on Quikr app. According to the FIR received by IANS, complainant Anshuman Kumar (IPS) said his wife and cook Gopal Magar became victims of cyber fraud committed by a person posing as a buyer on the Quikr app on October 30.
According to the FIR, Rs 1,07,311 were defrauded from his wife’s bank account, while Rs 80,000 were defrauded from Cook’s bank account. The fraudster introduced himself as Rahul and claimed to own a furniture store in Bengaluru. It seems that this number is still active on WhatsApp. Money transferred to one bank account and transferred from that account to another bank account. The FIR also said that the withdrawal was made through an ATM in Mathura. Police said that the contents of the complaint constitute an offense under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code.
