Israel apologizes over the death of aid workers in Gaza
Tel Aviv: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has apologized over the death of seven World Control Kitchen (WCK) employees killed in an airstrike on an aid convoy in Gaza. In a statement late Tuesday, IDF chief Herzi Halevi said that seven World Central Kitchen employees were killed due to “mistaken identification.” Halevi further said that WCK is an important organization that works in conflict areas. The IDF has worked closely with it in the past. He also said that the IDF had completed a preliminary investigation into the attack. There was no intention to harm WCK aid workers, the IDF chief said.
