IT raid on Dheeraj Sahu, 17 kg gold seized, investigation ongoing

Yesterday the Income Tax Department arrested the wife of distillery owner Sanjay Sahu and searched the lockers of Titilagarh Utkal Gramya Bank and Axis Bank in Titilagarh. Gold was recovered from one of the three lockers of Axis Bank. There is information about finding 17 kg gold.
Today there is information about investigation of some more lockers. Important information can be obtained from the laptop, hard disk and diary seized from Balangir. The Income Tax Department is also investigating them. On the other hand, after the counting of money is completed, the process of depositing it in the government account has started.
Let us tell you here that this raid is said to be one of the biggest raids of the Income Tax Department so far. This cash is said to be linked to Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu. This amount was fixed at Rs 353 crore.
Sources say that counting machines and manpower were installed at the main branch of State Bank of India (SBI) in Balangir. A team of officials continued counting of a total of 176 bags of cash seized during raids on premises linked to Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu.
The Income Tax Department had deployed around 40 big and small machines and brought in more department staff and bank employees.
Yesterday, Income Tax teams had seized three more bags of cash from the premises of Dheeraj Sahu in Jharkhand capital Ranchi. While here it is noteworthy that around 19 bags of money were seized from the house of their manager who was in charge of maintenance of liquor factories in different areas of Odisha. The amount recovered from the manager’s house is feared to cross Rs 20 crore.
