‘ITC management should provide clarity on labor issues within a week’

Burgampahad, April 17: The Warangal Labour Joint Commissioner has responded to the 23-day relay hunger strike by the workers, who have been going on without even considering the fire, said JAC convener Pati Somireddy, co-conveners Sanikommu Ramachandra Reddy, MD Yakub Pasha and Ballem Nagayya. He said that the Labour Commission has ordered the ITC management to provide clarity on the labour issues related to the relay hunger strike on Friday within a week. Marri Venkat Reddy, Chukkapalli Balaji, Mekala Sandeep and Jangili Srinu participated in the 23rd hunger strike, while ITC INTUC leaders Rebbalpalli Harikrishna, JAC co-conveners Aakini Sarveswara Rao, Aakini Chandra Rao, Surisetty Jagadish and Badam Santosh Reddy garlanded them and expressed solidarity.
On this occasion, the JAC officials submitted several representations to the Joint Commissioner of Labor alleging that the ITC management was neglecting to resolve the workers’ issues, but he finally responded and ordered the management to provide clarity on the labor issues within a week. The JAC leaders made it clear that they would go on strike if the management still did not resolve the labor issues. JAC members and contract workers participated in this initiation camp.
