Jagannath Puri Heritage Corridor Project to open for public on January 17

Puri: The Shree Mandir Parikrama of Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, also known as the ‘Jagannath Heritage Corridor Project’, has been completed by Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation (OBCC) and the temple administration Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). SJTA chief administrator Ranjan Kumar Das said, “The work is almost complete and the entire project will now be under the supervision of the temple authorities.”

Ranjan Kumar Das further said, “The work was mostly done within 75 meters of the ‘Medhnada Pacheri’ (outer boundary wall) of the 12th century temple.”

The heritage project includes parking lot, Sri Setu (a bridge), pilgrimage centre, a new road to facilitate the movement of pilgrims, toilets for male and female devotees and servants, electrical works along with cloak rooms and other visitor facilities. Are.

The inauguration ceremony of the mega project started from Friday. The first phase of ‘Yagya’ (Gua Teca ritual) and ‘Anukra Ropana’ ritual also began. As a part of this, yagyas and various other rituals will be performed for three days (January 15, 16 and 17) before the inauguration ceremony on January 17.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the project, while Puri Gajapati Maharaj Divyasingh Deb will perform the pranahuti (final oblation) at the three-day yagya.

The purpose of the corridor is to enhance the visual appeal and ambience of the iconic Jagannath Temple. This inauguration took place just five days before the coronation of the Ram temple.

Jagannath Temple is one of the four Dhamma places that every Hindu is advised to visit. Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath, sister Devi Subhadra and elder brother Mahaprabhu Shri Balabhadra are being worshiped in Puri (Purushottam Kshetra).
