Jagtial: Policeman accused of bribery in Jagtial escapes from ACB’s trap
Jagtial: The police sub-inspector arrested on charges of bribery managed to escape from the Anti-Corruption Bureau officials waiting at the police station to arrest him at Raikal division headquarters on Friday night. ACB sources said that an agreement had been reached between sub-inspector Ajay and sand transporters regarding the transportation of sand. In return, the sand traders had promised to give him a bribe of Rs 25,000 through a middleman. However, the sand traders contacted the ACB officials, who hatched a plan to catch the sub-inspector red-handed. As per the plan, the sub-inspector was asked to come to the police station after 11 pm on Friday and collect the money. However, the sub-inspector who reached the spot saw the ACB team at the police station and managed to escape. The middleman who reached the spot to hand over the money has also been taken into custody, while efforts are on to nab the absconding policeman.
