Jailed Gangster Files Nomination for Pune Civic Polls with Hands Tied

A gangster, who is an accused in the murder case of his own grandson, is contesting the Pune local body elections. On Saturday, he came to the returning office from jail and filed his nomination. The police brought him to the returning office with a black mask on his face and his hands tied with ropes. The scenes related to this are going viral.
Gang leader Bandhu Andekhar is currently in judicial custody in the murder case of his own grandson Ayush Komkar. A special court has allowed him to contest the local body elections. With that, he entered the fray as an independent. He raised slogans while filing his nomination. Two other women from the Andekhar family, who are accused in the same murder case, are also contesting the elections in this election.
The two women also filed their nominations with the court’s permission. Ayush Komkar lost his life in a shooting incident in Nanapet on September 5. Andekhar and 15 other people, including two women from his family, are accused of involvement in the murder. All of them are currently in judicial custody. Elections will be held in 28 other areas, including Pune, on January 15.
