Jalandhar: Minor girl trapped on the pretext of marriage

Punjab: A criminal case has been registered under sections 363 and 366A of the Indian Penal Code for kidnapping and luring a minor girl under the false pretense of marriage. DSP Nakodar Onkar Singh Brar stated that according to the FIR, the complainant, a resident of Buddhimanpur, Bihar, has accused a man from Darbhanga district, who currently lives in the same area, of luring away his minor daughter after promising to marry her.
The FIR states that the girl was allegedly abducted by deception, raising serious concerns of child exploitation and trafficking under relevant sections of the law. The Nurmahal police have formally registered a case, following which a full investigation has been initiated as per legal procedures. DSP Brar stated that all aspects of the allegation are being investigated sensitively and rigorously, keeping the welfare and safety of the minor girl at the forefront. Further action will be taken based on the results of the ongoing investigation.
