Jalandhar: One arrested for raping a minor

Jalandhar: Based on the statement of a 15-year-old girl, police have arrested Harpreet Singh, alias Mintu, of Souli village, for raping her and registered a case against him under Section 65 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the POCSO Act. The victim told police that she is a Class 10 student.
Harpreet asked her to be friends with him. In January 2025, he lured her to his home and raped her, resulting in her pregnancy. The victim stated that when her health deteriorated, her family brought her to Civil Hospital, Garhshankar, for treatment, where she gave birth to a baby girl. Acting on this statement, Garhshankar police registered a case against the accused and arrested him.
