Jalandhar: One person arrested with illegal weapon

Jalandhar: A police team led by Jalandhar CIA staff in-charge Inspector Surinder Kumar arrested a man with an illegal firearm. Police Commissioner (CP) Dhanpreet Kaur stated that the CIA team had set up a checkpoint under the Transport Nagar bridge. During the checking, the team apprehended a suspect for questioning. He was identified as Sagar Masih alias Baggi, a resident of Christian Mohalla, Kahnuwan, Gurdaspur. Upon searching him, police recovered a .32-bore pistol and four live cartridges. An FIR has been registered against the accused under sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act at Division No. 8 police station. The action was carried out under the supervision of DCP (Investigation) Manpreet Singh Dhillon, ADCP (Investigation) Jayant Puri, and ACP (D) Amarbir Singh. The public has been urged to immediately report any information related to illegal or suspicious activities to the police on helpline number 112.
