Jalandhar: Police officers attacked while trying to arrest a fugitive suspect.

Jalandhar: Tension gripped Kharaudi village on Tuesday morning when a police team from Mehtiana arrived to arrest Shahdeen, an accused who was absconding in a case. Ajnooha police post in-charge Kaushal Kumar, along with his police party, had gone to the village to apprehend the accused. During the operation, the absconding accused’s family members, including Makhandeen’s son Sifadeen, his brother, and some other unidentified individuals, attacked the police team. The accused also attempted to snatch ASI Amarjit Singh’s weapon and obstructed the police from performing their duty. Based on the statement of the police post in-charge, Mahilpur police have registered a case against the accused under various sections of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita), including sections 353, 132, 221, 109, 61(2), 121(1), 262, 191(3), and 190, and have initiated further legal proceedings.
