Jammu-Srinagar National Highway closed due to landslide
Jammu: Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been closed for vehicular traffic due to landslides and falling of stones. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. J&K Traffic Police said, “The National Highway has been blocked at various places due to landslides/rockfall. People are advised not to travel till the restoration work is completed.” The traffic police said that the work to clear the route is going on. Significantly, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is the lifeline of the Kashmir Valley and the main road link connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country. Trucks and other vehicles going to Kashmir carrying essential supplies pass through the highway and trucks carrying fruits from Kashmir go to the rest of the country through this road.
