‘Jawaan’ got confused in his first meeting with Shahrukh Khan, know the funny story?
Director Atlee, whose recent release ‘Jawaan’ is making waves at the box-office, has shared what his first meeting with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was like. Shahrukh, who continued his reign in Bollywood with his second consecutive big hit after ‘Jawaan’, has played a dual role in the film directed by Atlee. Atlee told IANS that when he met Shahrukh, the Bollywood superstar told him he wanted to do an ‘Atlee film’, a phrase that confused even the director himself. “When we met for the first time, Shahrukh sir told me that I want to do an ‘Attlee film’,” the director told IANS. I asked him, ‘Sir, what is ‘Attlee film’?’ I want to be a part of a film which has your signature as a mass director.” When Shahrukh told him that the film would be completely his and would have his signature on it, the director was happy with it. He said, “I am fortunate to have such an amazing team from Shahrukh sir, Nayanthara ma’am, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika ma’am, they pushed me to my limits and gave me the best.
” The canvas of ‘Jawaan’ is as big as it is. Not surprisingly, the film took 4 years to make. The shooting was affected due to the pandemic. “I got a lot of support from my family, my wife Priya is my backbone,” the director shared with IANS. And , the second one was Mr. Khan, he gave me the strength to fight all the challenges we faced as a team in the last 4 years during the making of this film.” Before signing, the director talked about his recent venture after coming to the streaming medium. He also hinted at a special OTT cut of the blockbuster release. He said, “I am working to give something special and more for the OTT audience. It may or may not happen. But, the audience is currently in theatres. I am working on adding two or three minutes to what they are watching. It will be a little surprise for me for the OTT audience.” ‘Jawaan’ is currently running in theatres.
