Jewelery worth lakhs found in contractor’s house, case registered

Raipur ; Thieves entered the deserted house of a land contractor in Mana police station area by cutting the grill of the rear window and took away jewelery worth Rs 14 lakh and Rs 7 lakh in cash. On the complaint of Mana Camp-11 resident Sandeep Mandal, the police have registered a crime against unknown thieves and are searching. According to the police, Sandeep Mandal had gone to Pakhanjoor with his family to celebrate Diwali. When he returned on November 16, the theft was discovered. The door of the house was closed from outside. The thieves had entered through the back window.


They took out gold and silver jewelery and cash from the cupboard kept in the house and fled back through the same route. Police are scanning the footage of nearby CCTV cameras. A suspicious young man has been seen in this. Police is busy searching for the accused on the basis of the footage. The victim told that there were about seven lakh rupees in Rs 500 notes in the trolley bag in the cupboard. The stolen jewelery included a neck set of four pieces, two gold bracelets, two gold mangal sutras, three gold bangles, eight gold earrings, two gold bracelets, two gold rings, one gold Ganpati pendant, Silver coin, anklet, chain, bangle and toe ring, jewelery worth approximately Rs 14 lakh were stolen.
