Jharkhand got 24 new IPS, two of them started as constables
Ranchi (IANS). Jharkhand has got 24 new IPS. He was posted as DSP in the state and was recently promoted to IPS by the Union Public Service Commission.
These officers were given IPS badges by the state Chief Minister Hemant Soren in a program organized on Monday. Of these, six officers have been allotted in 2017, 12 in 2019 and six in 2020 batch. On this occasion, the CM hoped that increasing the number of IPS in the state would help in better law and order and control crimes.
The special thing is that among those promoted as IPS, there are two who have traveled from constable to IPS. Their names are Sarojini Lakra and Emelda Ekka.
Actually, both these Dhakads have been international athletes and their entry in the police department was in the year 1986 as constables from the sports quota. During this both of them got higher education. Along with this, the state and the police department were given many proud opportunities.
On June 19, in a meeting held with top officials of the state government at the UPSC in Delhi, it was agreed to promote 24 officers of the State Police Service of Jharkhand to the IPS. Among the officers who got the IPS badge, besides Sarojini Lakda and Emelda Ekka, Sadiq Anwar Rizvi, Arvind Kumar Singh, Vikas Kumar Pandey, Vijay Ashish Kujur, Deepak Kumar Sharma, Raj Kumar Mehta, Shambhu Kumar Singh, Ajay Kumar Sinha, Anudeep Singh, Pujya Prakash, Shahdev Sao, Amit Kumar Singh, Ajit Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Deepak Kumar Pandey, Animesh Naithani, Ajay Kumar, Arif Ekram, Dr. Bimal Kumar, Manish Toppo, Kailash Karmali and Pitambar Singh Kherwar.
