Jharkhand: Lightning struck five times on a school in Garhwa

Death had rained from the sky just two days ago in Bhavnathpur of Garhwa. A farmer’s life ended due to being hit by lightning. One cattle also died. A woman also got scorched due to lightning. Even on Tuesday, the sky had rained again. The thunderclap took place in a school premises in Ketar block of Garhwa. There was a thunderclap here amidst the rain that started with thunder. 700 infants were studying in the Middle School Ketar campus where lightning struck. Lightning struck here not once, twice but five times. While giving information about the incident, the children said that suddenly four to five times unusual lightning struck us and we got scared.
Lightning conductor not fitted
It is a matter of pride that this lightning fell from the sky on a tree in the school premises. All the children were saved in this accident. 700 children of the school, teachers and the cook were all happy that life was saved. Due to the Garhwa district being a plateau region, there is lightning here even in bad weather. In such a situation, there are many government schools in the district, where even today lightning conductors (lightning conductors) have not been installed, due to which the lives of the children are in danger. Dozens of deaths occur every year due to lightning. Here, lightning devices have not been installed in more than 300 government schools.

Despite this, no lightning devices are being installed on the school building to protect it from lightning. The children have to bear the brunt of this negligence of the department.
