Jharkhand: Preparations for a major gift; proposal for two new sleeper Vande Bharat trains from Tatanagar.

Jamshedpur: Great news has emerged for rail passengers in Jharkhand. The state may soon get the facility of two new sleeper Vande Bharat Express trains. The South Eastern Railway zone has submitted a proposal to the Railway Board regarding the operation of sleeper Vande Bharat trains. According to the proposal, one train could run between Shalimar and Mumbai via Tatanagar and Chakradharpur stations, while the second sleeper Vande Bharat train is planned to run between Tatanagar and Varanasi.

If this railway proposal is approved, Tatanagar station is likely to achieve another major milestone. With the introduction of the new trains, the total number of Vande Bharat trains operating from Tatanagar could rise to five. This will benefit not only passengers from Jharkhand but also those from Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and neighboring states by providing fast, comfortable, and modern rail facilities.

The Garden Reach headquarters of the South Eastern Railway zone sent the proposal regarding the operation of the new sleeper Vande Bharat trains to the Railway Board on June 11. Further proceedings will commence following the Railway Board’s approval. According to railway officials, the sleeper Vande Bharat is being designed with long-distance travel in mind, offering passengers enhanced amenities during overnight journeys.

The proposed Shalimar-Mumbai sleeper Vande Bharat train is planned to run via Tatanagar and Chakradharpur. This route is considered crucial for passengers in the southern part of Jharkhand. Currently, passengers traveling to Mumbai often have to rely on conventional long-distance trains. The introduction of the new sleeper Vande Bharat is expected to save time and improve the overall travel experience.

Additionally, the railways have prepared a proposal to run a Tatanagar-Varanasi sleeper Vande Bharat train. Varanasi is a significant city in terms of religion, culture, and tourism, with a large number of passengers traveling there from Jharkhand. Consequently, the launch of a high-speed, modern train between Tatanagar and Varanasi is expected to offer great convenience to travelers.

Currently, two Vande Bharat trains are operating from Tatanagar station: the Tatanagar-Patna Vande Bharat and the Tatanagar-Brahmapur Vande Bharat. Additionally, the Ranchi-Howrah and Rourkela-Howrah Vande Bharat trains also pass through the South Eastern Railway zone. These trains have received a positive response from passengers.

The Railways is continuously expanding the Vande Bharat network. Following the introduction of chair-car Vande Bharat trains, special focus is now being placed on the ‘Sleeper Vande Bharat’ to cater to long-distance travelers. The plan for the Sleeper Vande Bharat includes modern coaches, enhanced amenities, and more comfortable arrangements for passengers traveling overnight.

Railway experts believe that the introduction of Sleeper Vande Bharat trains will bring about a significant transformation in long-distance rail travel. Demand for these trains is rising due to their high speed, superior amenities, and the ability to reach destinations in less time. This facility will be particularly beneficial for those traveling long distances for business, employment, education, or other reasons.

This proposal holds special significance for passengers in the industrial city of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, and its surrounding areas. Tatanagar is a major railway junction from where a large number of passengers travel to various parts of the country. The operation of new Vande Bharat trains will further strengthen the station’s importance.

Local passengers state that having fast and convenient train connections from Tatanagar to Mumbai and Varanasi would save time. The availability of sleeper facilities, especially for overnight journeys, would offer greater comfort to travelers.

However, the proposal for both trains is currently under consideration by the Railway Board. The route, timetable, and operational dates will be finalized only after receiving final approval. Railway officials state that operational capacity, track availability, and other technical aspects will be reviewed before launching the new trains.

If the Railway Board approves this proposal, it will prove to be a significant milestone for Jharkhand’s rail network. Sleeper Vande Bharat trains will provide passengers in the state with a new option for modern rail services and strengthen regional connectivity.
