JKRCEA to organize career counselling for SCs, STs, OBCs
JKRCEA, a frontal organization of SC,ST, OBC communities has decided to focus on education and employment guidance for the youth belonging to SC,ST,OBCs and people belonging to economically weaker sections of the society. Prof GL Thapa, while talking to media-persons said that JKRCEA on August 6, 2023 started “Career Counselling” free of cost for the marginalized students and in this regard called eminent personalities from Delhi to guide at least 89 students for their career progression that included students who were aspiring to take civil services (IAS/JKAS) exams. Thereafter, small scale programs for career counselling were also conducted in between. He said that this shall be a regular feature from now onwards are JKRCEA through various experts in different fields shall hold such sessions for the benefit of students, Even the school or college drop outs shall be sensitized to undertake some skill development courses and enter into micro and small scale industry to become self-sufficient and self-reliant as an individual and for the overall growth of family. Mohinder Bhagat while addressing the media said that although they shall be providing free of cost career counselling to all SCs, STs, OBCs but preference shall be given to more poor amongst these communities but doors for unreserved category poor students are also open for guidance and counselling. He said that this time Mock Interview program shall be organized once in a week till middle of the March 2024 and the schedule for the same shall be further shared on Whatsapp, Facebook and other modes of communication to the interested candidates. Sham Basson appealed to all the parents and all the SC, ST, OBC, EWS who have qualified for civil services to take benefit of this mock interview program that shall be done on the pattern of interview held by UPSC for IAS/ IFS/ IPS & allied civil services. He said experienced faculty/experts from outside J&K and within J&K shall be called for mock Interviews that shall add to the confidence of the candidates who are appearing for interview for IAS/ IPS etc starting from Feb 18, 2024 at New Delhi. He further said that MIP will start on Feb 17, 2024 in the premises of Gurudwara Shri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj at Bahu Fort in Jammu and it will continue on every Saturday and Sunday for one month.
