Karnataka CM meets Rajnath Singh, demands air show during Dussehra
Bengaluru (IANS). Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Thursday and requested him to organize an air show during the famous Dussehra festival.
In a letter submitted to the Defense Minister, the Chief Minister’s Office said that the famous Mysuru Dussehra festival showcases the grandeur of Karnataka.
The letter said, “In 2017 and 2019, the Dussehra festival was privileged to have a special airshow performed by the Indian Air Force at the Torchlight Parade Ground in Mysore, which attracted the attention of thousands of tourists and Kannadigas. It is requested to kindly direct that Nadhabba in Mysuru during Dussehra 2023 to have ‘air show’ as before.”
Siddaramaiah himself handed over the letter to Rajnath Singh.
Later, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at her office and held talks.
He also met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and discussed the shortcomings of the Bengaluru-Mysore Expressway.
Gadkari assured them of sending a team of experts to solve the problems.
Siddaramaiah also handed over to Gadkari a letter of nine different projects to be sanctioned for the state.
