Karur stampede case.. CBI summons TVK Chief Vijay

Another key development has taken place in the investigation of the Karur stampede case. The CBI has issued summons to Tamil Vetri Kalagam (TVK) party president and actor Vijay, who is an accused in the case. It has ordered him to appear before it for questioning on the 12th of this month. It has been said that Vijay will be questioned at the CBI headquarters in the national capital, Delhi.
Meanwhile, on September 27 last year, 41 people lost their lives in a stampede during Vijay’s campaign rally in Karur town of Tamil Nadu. Another 110 people were injured. The Supreme Court of the country has ordered a CBI investigation into this incident. What was the reason for this incident? The CBI has stated in its order that who is responsible should be ascertained.
Similarly, the Supreme Court has also appointed a three-member committee to monitor the CBI investigation. The committee was headed by former Supreme Court judge Ajay Rastogi. The TVK party approached the Supreme Court to ensure an impartial investigation into the incident. The Supreme Court ordered a CBI investigation and appointed a three-member committee.
