Kerala: Drug racket busted in Thiruvananthapuram, 300 kg of marijuana seized

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Thiruvananthapuram: In a major anti-narcotics operation, 300 kg of ganja was seized from an Innova car in Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram. A youth named Afsal, a native of Karakulam, has been arrested in connection with the case.

The accused was stopped by the DANSAF (District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force) team while allegedly attempting to smuggle contraband using an Innova car. According to officials, he was waiting to hand over the vehicle and the marijuana to another person when he was taken into custody. The operation was carried out by a team led by Narcotics Assistant Commissioner Gopkumar. Officials said the accused had been involved in similar cases in the past also. He is currently being interrogated and officials are investigating whether more people were involved in the smuggling network.
