Kerala: Man accused in several cases arrested after 21 years.

Kerala: Mannar police have arrested Premkumar (70) from Haripad Karthikappally Mahadevikadu, Padipura, who had been living a quiet life after being convicted in several cases, including a theft that occurred 21 years ago.
He was arrested in 2004 in a theft case registered by the Haripad Veeyapuram police and absconded after being released on bail. Since there was no lock-up at the Veeyapuram station, which was then under the Mannar police circle, the accused, who had been taken to the Mannar station, also managed to evade the police there. Another case is pending against him at the Mannar police station in connection with this incident.
He is also an accused in several other cases, including five theft cases registered by the Veeyapuram police and an attempted murder case of a police officer at the Konni police station in Pathanamthitta. A warrant was issued against him in 2008 for failing to appear in court after obtaining bail. The accused was arrested from Erumeli during a subsequent investigation led by Mannar Police Inspector D. Regish Kumar.
