Kerala Minister Antony Raju dismisses reports of early cabinet reshuffle
Thiruvananthapuram (IANS). Kerala Transport Minister Antony Raju has dismissed reports of cabinet reshuffle in the state. He has said that there was no discussion on the cabinet reshuffle in the meeting of the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF).
Addressing media persons here on Sunday, the minister said, “The discussion about cabinet reshuffle is now futile. I don’t think LDF will consider this matter in its next meeting also. LDF may discuss cabinet reshuffle after two months. The media created fabricated news on the cabinet reshuffle.
Asked about reports of his removal from the ministerial post, Raju said, “If LDF has set a condition of sharing ministerial posts among allies for 2.5-2.5 years, then it should be followed.”
The minister also said the LDF has a proper system to take decisions on cabinet reshuffle without affecting the functioning of the front.
It is noteworthy that it was agreed in the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) that two ministers in the Pinarayi Vijayan cabinet — Antony Raju and Ahmed Devarcoil will be replaced after their tenure of two and a half years. Possible replacements are KB Ganesh Kumar and Kadanappalli Ramachandran, who could be made ministers.
