Kites themed on PM Modi and Operation Sindoor dominate the kite festival

Ahmedabad: Hundreds of kites filled the sky at the ongoing International Kite Festival in Gujarat, as professional kite flyers displayed their prowess at the Sabarmati Riverfront to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The kites that attracted the most attention were themed and patriotic.
Kites depicting Prime Minister Modi and Operation Sindoor were the most notable.
Hundreds of people attended the inauguration of the kite festival, but the moment that captured everyone’s attention was when PM Modi flew a special themed kite, further enhancing the festive atmosphere of the event.
According to kite makers, the purpose of these themed and patriotic kites is to instill patriotism and pride in the country among participants.
These kites were designed using modern technology and high-quality materials.
Endang of the Indonesian Kite Museum in Jakarta, Indonesia, explained that this PM Modi-themed kite was made about eight years ago. He said that when Prime Minister Modi visited Indonesia in 2018, he flew this same kite in Jakarta. At that time, India and Indonesia were celebrating 70 years of friendship.
According to Endang, Indonesian President Joko Widido and Prime Minister Modi flew the kite together on that historic occasion.
The kite took about a week to make and involved very meticulous work.
The kite with the theme of ‘Operation Sindoor’ also attracted considerable attention.
Praveen Kumar from Rajasthan expressed his joy, saying, “We are very proud that Prime Minister Modi flew the kite we made. This time we chose ‘Operation Sindoor’ as the theme.”
Varun Chadha, a member of the Indian kite team, said, “PM Modi’s presence electrified the atmosphere. The event was a great success, and there was tremendous enthusiasm among the people.”
