Koraput: Bodies of mother and son recovered from different canals, foul play suspected

Koraput: In a shocking incident, the bodies of a mother and her 10-year-old son were found in separate canals in the Borigumma block of Koraput district on Monday. The deceased were identified as Anushka Parida (35) and her son, Eham Parida (10). The two had been missing since February 21st, and a missing persons report had been filed at the Borigumma police station. According to reports, the boy’s body was found stuffed in a sack near a canal in the jurisdiction of the Kotpad police in Jaipur, while his mother’s body was recovered a few hours later from another canal near Jayantgiri. Meanwhile, the Borigumma police suspect that Anushka’s daughter and her lover may be behind the brutal murder of the mother and son. Reports suggest that Anushka and her son opposed her relationship with the boy, which led to the gruesome murder. Meanwhile, police have detained the woman and her lover for questioning. Sub-divisional Police Officer Satyabrata Lenka said, “We have recovered two bodies and sent them for post-mortem. They were missing. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. It is believed that a family dispute is behind this gruesome murder. A detailed investigation is underway to determine the real reason.” The discovery of the bodies has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many demanding immediate action against the perpetrators.
