KRMB likely to take over operational control of NSP Srisailam

Hyderabad: Amid rising tensions between the two Telugu states over Krishna water distribution, they are taking measures to free up operational control of the watershed projects.

This has set the stage for transfer of control of Nagarjuna Sagar Project and Srisailam Project to Krishna River Management Board. The Jal Shakti Ministry has taken serious note of the ongoing dispute between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh regarding exchange of water in the Nagarjuna Sagar Project.

There are 36 water projects under the competition of Krishna River Management Board. Which includes project clusters like Nagarjuasagar, Srisailam, Jurala, Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme, Sunkesula Barrage, NSP Tailpond, Pulichintala and Tugabhadra Projects de Alto and Bajo Nivel.
