KTM 390 Duke VS Triumph Speed 400 Know Features
KTM: KTM has launched the new generation 390 Duke in the Indian market yesterday. Its competition is with the Triumph Speed 400 launched a few months ago. Both of these European motorcycles are manufactured in India by the same company – Bajaj Auto. Let us see the comparison of these two bikes.
Dimensions
Length of KTM 390 Duke is 2072 mm, width 831 mm, height 1109 mm, wheelbase 1357 mm, ground clearance 151, seat height 800 mm, fuel tank capacity 11 liters and curb weight 168.3 kg. Width of Triumph Speed 400 is 814 mm, Height is 1084 mm, wheelbase is 1377 mm, seat height is 790 mm, fuel tank capacity is 13 liters and weight is 176 kg.
Specifications and Hardware
Both the motorcycles come with similar features like all-LED lighting, USB charging port and traction control. However, the 390 Duke gets features like a bi-directional quickshifter, Bluetooth connectivity, in-built navigation and several electronic assists like launch control mode, lean-sensitive ABS and three ride modes. Additionally, the KTM goes ahead of Triumph’s semi-digital console with an LCD unit. The Duke WP comes with the Apex’s more premium hardware with fully adjustable front and rear suspension units. The Duke gets slightly larger 320 mm front and 240 mm rear disc brakes compared to the 300 mm front and 230 mm rear discs offered in the Speed 400.

Both motorcycles get a liquid-cooled engine with the same capacity. The KTM Duke 390 produces about 6 bhp and 1.5 Nm more torque than the Triumph Speed 400. Both get 6-speed gear transmission with slipper clutch assistance.

Both motorcycles are available only in one fully-loaded variant. The ex-showroom price of the 390 Duke is Rs 3.10 lakh, while the ex-showroom price of the Speed 400 is Rs 2.33 lakh.
