KTR deceived minorities, charges Shabbir Ali
Hyderabad: In a scathing critique, Congress senior leader and Advisor to SC, ST, BC, and Minority departments, Shabbir Ali, rebuked BRS working president KT Rama Rao for what he deemed as theatrical displays of affection towards minorities in Telangana.
Addressing the media in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Shabbir Ali, accompanied by Congress party Official Spokesperson Nizamuddin, asserted that the previous BRS government had failed to make any meaningful contributions to the welfare and development of minorities over the past decade. He questioned the credibility of KT Rama Rao to speak on behalf of minorities in Telangana, given the perceived lack of action during BRS President K Chandrashekar Rao’s tenure as the Chief Minister.
“The minorities received no tangible benefits when KCR led the government in Telangana. KCR, in fact, made numerous attempts to thwart the political progress of an innocent minority leader like myself in the Kamareddy Assembly constituency. KT Rama Rao must provide an explanation for KCR’s sudden interest in Kamareddy and his decision to contest elections from there. It is evident that KCR’s intentions were to prevent a minority leader from entering the Assembly,” alleged Shabbir Ali.
Highlighting Congress as the only party providing opportunities to minorities, Shabbir Ali, the former minister, affirmed his role as the Advisor to SC, ST, BC, and Minority departments. He reiterated Congress’s commitment to offering increased opportunities for minorities in the future.
“Congress, as a demonstration of its commitment to minorities, appointed BRS leader Mahmood Ali as an MLC and extended unwavering support during the MLC elections, given his minority background. This showcases Congress’s dedication to minority representation. However, when it comes to the BRS party, there is little to commend,” he emphasized.
