Laborer lost the battle of life, soil collapsed at a depth of 50 feet

Barmer: In Rajasthan, a laborer buried in a 50 feet deep well due to mudslide has not been taken out yet. Administration teams have been engaged in the rescue of that person for 18 hours. According to the report, during the digging of the well, the worker got buried under the soil due to subsidence. According to the police, he has died and now efforts are being made to bring out the body.

As soon as the laborer got buried on Saturday, people nearby started trying to free him by removing the soil and the administration was also informed about the incident. Administration teams reached the spot and started the rescue of the laborer but could not rescue him as he was buried under sand and debris. The incident took place in Tala village of Barmer district.

According to the information, the digging work of the well was going on for the last 4-5 days and 50 feet had been excavated. The workers were doing the work of cementing the well by installing firms. Meanwhile, due to the sliding of the cement frame, the soil caved in and the worker got buried under the soil.

The laborer’s brother and other laborers tried to pull him out but could not. The villagers immediately reached the spot and informed the administration about the incident. Administrative staff including SDM, DYSP, Barmer MLA Mevaram Jain along with 3 JCBs, 2 tractors and rescue relief teams reached the spot. The work of removing soil from the well started, but during the removal of soil, the well kept sinking. This is the reason why the laborer has not been fired even after 18 hours.

According to the police, three laborers were doing digging work in the well on Saturday. Due to the collapse of the well, 40 year old laborer Devaram was buried in front of his brother. The administration got the information after trying its level best. The Civil Defense team along with the administration is engaged in rescue on the spot but was not successful. According to the police, the laborer died after being buried under the soil. At present, efforts are on to recover the body of the labourer.
