Lakhs of rupees seized in Raipur, two accused arrested
Raipur. As per the instructions of Inspector General of Police Range, District Raipur R.L. Dangi and Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal, in order to keep in view the security and law and order in view of the upcoming assembly elections including prevention of crimes, cracking down on criminals, as well as in compliance with the model code of conduct, District Raipur Continuous checking of suspicious persons and suspicious vehicles is being done by setting up several blockades/points in all the police station areas. In the same sequence, on 20.10.2023, under police station Devendra Nagar area, M.G. In front of the City Center Mall located on the road, two-wheeler/four-wheelers were being checked by the joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and Devendra Nagar police station.
During vehicle checking, the team members stopped two persons traveling in a two-wheeler and checked the trunk and bag of their vehicle. On checking the bag, it was found to contain cash. During interrogation, the persons revealed their names to be Jitendra Sahu and Keshav Ram Sinha. When the team members inquired about the cash amount and demanded valid documents, he was continuously misleading the team members by not presenting any kind of document regarding the cash amount. On which the cash amount of Rs 5,87,300/- kept by the team members with Jitendra Sahu and Keshav Ram Sinha was registered under Section 102 J.F. Under this, it was seized in Devendra Nagar police station and its information is being given to the Income Tax Department.
