Fire brigade and NDRF teams have reached the spot for rescue. According to the information, a room built in the basement has collapsed due to heavy rain in Vasant Vihar, Delhi. 3-4 people are feared dead in this incident. However, there is no official confirmation of anyone’s death yet.
Delhi Police and NDRF team have reached the spot. Rescue operation has been started. DCP (South West) Rohit Meena has said that some workers are feared to be trapped in this mud. The exact number is yet to be ascertained. Rescue teams of NDRF, DDMA, civic agencies, fire brigade, police are present on the spot. Efforts are on to rescue them from this under-construction basement.
Chief Fire Officer of Delhi Fire Department, Atul Garg said that around 6 am on June 28, the fire department received a call about the collapse of a house from Vasant Vihar area. Information was also received that some people are likely to be trapped inside it. After which five fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the spot and information about this was also given to NDRF and other departments.
He has told that till now it is not confirmed how many people are trapped inside due to soil collapse. The work of evacuating them is going on continuously. It is worth noting that due to rain, people are facing a lot of problems in commuting due to waterlogging in many areas of Delhi.
