Sidhu Murder Case: Sidhu Moosewala has not yet got justice. The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Mansa had issued production warrants for October 4 and October 17 against an accused in the Punjabi singer’s murder case. However, the jail authorities failed to produce him on both the dates. At the same time, the late singer’s father Balkaur Sidhu objected to the virtual appearance of the accused in his son’s murder case, and said that he was assured that the accused would appear physically in the court.

Balkaur Sidhu’s pain spilled over
Sidhu Moosewala’s father Balkaur Sidhu, who is waiting for justice, said, ‘We were assured that the accused would be produced physically, but they were not produced properly even on VC (video conference). Today, 22 out of 25 accused were produced. Lawrence Bishnoi did not say anything as he maintained silence. We are very helpless in this situation. The delay in producing the accused in court led to a delay in initiating the process of sending the charge sheet to the District and Sessions Court, where the murder case is being heard. The next hearing on the case will be on November 2.

Continuous delay in the appearance of the accused
Last month, the SIT probing Moosewala’s murder had filed a second supplementary charge sheet against Joga for allegedly harboring the Haryana-based shooters who killed the singer. After this, the CJM court had issued production warrants against Joga for October 4 and October 17 respectively. However, the jail authorities failed to produce him on both the dates. Mansa CJM Surabhi Parashar said in an order, ‘The accused in custody in this case has not been produced by the jail authorities. A new production warrant should be issued for the accused again for 31st October.

Sidhu Moosewala murder case
It cannot be denied that 28-year-old Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Mansa on May 29 last year. The Punjabi singer was shot at close range and the attackers fired more than 30 rounds at Moosewala, who was found lying on the driver’s seat by locals. The incident occurred two days after the Punjab Police withdrew the security of 424 people, including Moosewala. The Punjab Police SIT has filed three chargesheets against 32 accused, including gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar, claiming that the murder was part of a series of revenge killings between Bishnoi and the Bambiha gang.
