Lendijala Villagers Set An Example Dowry And Gifts Banned In Marriages

Jainur: These days, marriages are becoming a huge burden for poor families. Lendijala village stands as an example for all those who are selling their assets and taking loans to get married. The villagers of Lendijala in Jainur mandal, Asifabad District, Kumram Bheem have recently taken a sensational decision to ban dowry and gifts in the village.
A resolution was passed at a village meeting chaired by Sarmedi Mesram Badirao Patel and village head Mesram Palakrao Devari at the Lendijala Rai Center on Wednesday to completely ban the exchange of dowries and gifts at weddings in the village. It was revealed that this decision was taken to reduce the financial burden on families in the name of dowries and gifts at weddings.
Similarly, it is noteworthy that the entire village has decided to cooperate with anyone in the village who has a wedding. For this, each family has started a system of collecting Rs. 400 as a contribution and providing financial assistance to the family celebrating the wedding. The villagers handed over the collected funds to the family of Mesram Jaithu, who is celebrating the first wedding in the village this year. Village elders said that this will reduce unnecessary expenses during weddings and provide relief to poor families.
