Letter written to the leaders of the opposition of both houses, also ready for a long discussion on Manipur – Amit Shah

New Delhi (IANS). Hitting back at the uproar created by the opposition parties in the House over Manipur, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said in the Lok Sabha that he has written letters to the leaders of the opposition in both the Houses saying that the government is ready for a discussion on Manipur, as long as the opposition wants, as the government has nothing to hide.

Describing Manipur as a sensitive issue, Shah said he has urged the leaders to create a conducive environment for discussion on it. Shah also said in the House that the public is watching him, it is election time and everyone should keep the public in mind.

Responding to the discussion on the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill 2022 in the Lok Sabha amid uproar and sloganeering by opposition MPs on the issue of Manipur, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah once again urged the opposition MPs to allow the House to run and discuss a sensitive subject like Manipur.

Earlier, detailing the steps taken by the Modi government for the cooperative sector, Shah said that these people (Opposition MPs) who are raising slogans in the House are neither interested in cooperatives, nor in Dalits, nor in the welfare of women.

Taking a dig at the Congress, Amit Shah said that the Congress had given the slogan of Garibi Hatao, but instead of removing poverty, it did the work of removing the poor. Whereas, in the last 9 years, the Modi government has worked only to remove poverty.

Lok Sabha passed the Multi-State Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill 2022 following Shah’s reply. After this, the proceedings of the House were adjourned till 11 am on Wednesday.
