Bhubaneswar: Youth killed, another critical after truck hits Scooty at Palasuni square

Bhubaneswar: A youth was killed while another sustained critical injuries on Saturday after a speeding truck hit their scooty from behind at Palasuni Square in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

According to information, two youths were riding on a scooty when a speeding truck rammed into them from behind. The impact threw the rider onto the road, and the truck ran over him. He died on the spot due to the injuries.

The pillion rider was seriously injured in the crash. On receiving information, Mancheswar police rushed to the spot, rescued the injured youth, and shifted him to Capital Hospital for treatment. His condition is stated to be critical.

The identities of both the deceased and the injured are yet to be ascertained, officials said.

The accident disrupted traffic on the National Highway for some time as vehicles piled up at Palasuni Square. Police cleared the road and began an investigation into the incident.
