Ludhiana: Part of Lakkad Bridge flyover collapses, covered with sand
Ludhiana: A portion of the Lakkad Bridge Flyover has collapsed. The collapsed portion has been covered with sand, raising serious concerns about the safety of people passing through the flyover. Moreover, the flyover road is broken at several places. Filling the potholes with sand will not solve the problem in the current monsoon season. If it rains, the sand will be washed away.
“Commuting on the Lakkad Bridge flyover seems risky. Earlier too, a portion of the bridge had collapsed. The concerned authorities should carry out proper repairs of the flyover,” said Sumesh, a daily commuter. Another commuter said the collapsed flyover road makes travelling difficult. “The municipal corporation should repair the entire road to save people from inconvenience,” he said. Meanwhile, municipal corporation officials said they will repair the collapsed portion of the bridge.
